State Tax Commission

The Mississippi State Tax Commission's web site includes news, statistics, answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), and general information about the following tax types:

Refunds: Taxpayers requesting the status of a tax refund should call (601) 923-7801.

Tax Forms: The State Tax Commission's web site allows taxpayers to request the following state tax forms: individual income tax or fiduciary tax forms and corporate income and franchise tax or partnership income tax forms.

Publications: The Commission's web site includes two general reference works available in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format for downloading and printing: Tax Structure Booklet (which provides an overview of state taxes and includes tax rates, exemptions and similar information) and Incentive Credit Summary (which summarizes the incentive credits available for businesses that are located in Mississippi or considering relocation to Mississippi.

Legislation

This Mississippi State Legislature has created its own web site that allows visitors to track the status of pending legislation.

The Data Processing Staff of the Legislative Budget Office has created a bill status system that allows visitors to track the status of pending legislation. To access the system, visitors must download special viewing software.

Pending legislation for the 1998 legislative session may also be accessed through the Legislature's ftp site.

Subscription-based service: A subscription based service that provides bill status of pending legislation is also available.

The Mississippi Lawyer's Domain provides summaries of tax legislation enacted during the legislative session.

Judicial Information

The Mississippi Supreme Court has establish a presence on the Internet. Its web site include decisions from the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.

Statutes

The Mississippi Lawyer's Domain is in the process of providing Internet access to the Mississippi state code (revised through the 1997 legislative session).
