The Department of Revenue has established a home page on the Internet. Among the documents available on the web site are news releases, publications (including informational bulletins) and letter rulings. The Department's web site also includes income tax and sales and use tax rates and charts. The Division of Taxation and Collection is responsible for administering the tax laws of the State of Missouri. Some of the functions involved are registering and licensing certain taxpayers, processing all tax documents (returns, reports, billings) and monies, and pursuing the collection of all delinquent tax dollars owed to Missouri. This Division also is responsible for refund processing, taxpayer assistance, and the distribution of local taxes to local taxing authorities. Individuals with speech/hearing impairments call TDD 1-800-735-2966. Tax Forms: Tax Forms are available from the Department's web site. A Fax-On-Demand (forms by fax) system is available at (573) 751-4800. This number must be called from the handset of a fax machine. Taxpayers can also request forms from the automated forms ordering system by calling 1-800-877-6881. Written requests for tax forms should be sent to:
Refunds: The Refund Inquiry Line number is 1-800-411-8524. . Electronic BBS: The Missouri Department of Revenue established its own on-line Bulletin Board System (MO DOR BBS) in September 1995. To access the Bulletin Board, dial (573)751-7846 from a personal computer equipped with a modem and communications software. The Department plans to have most tax forms, tax publications, law changes, the Tax Bulletin and many other informational articles available on the Bulletin Board. The service is free of charge; only normal telephone line charges apply. State Tax CommissionThe Missouri State Tax Commission (STC) has established a web site on the Internet. The Commission is concerned with property taxes and supervises the Assessing Officers and the Boards of Equalization. This Commission makes original property tax assessments on railroads, pipe lines, and some utilities. Included on the Commission's web site are STC Decisions, answers to frequently asked questions, information on how the assessment procedures works and how to file property tax appeals, and the text of applicable STC regulations. Department of LaborUnemployment insurance tax information is available from the Missouri Department of Labor's web site. Tax-related information provided on this site includes the Tax Information Main Menu, and New Employer Rates. LegislationThe Missouri House of Representatives has established an Internet Home Page.The site allows 1998 House & Senate joint bill tracking, 1998 House bills, plus bills truly agreed and finally passed, bills signed by the Governor. and bills vetoed by the Governor. Judicial InformationSupreme Court of Missouri provides Dockets and the text of recent opinions. Opinions and orders from the Missouri Court of Appeals (Eastern District) and (Western District) are also available. Summaries of certain court cases involving tax issues are available from the Division of Taxation and Collection web site. StatutesMissouri Revised Statutes are available from the Internet. The Missouri State Constitution is also online.
