The federal and state governments are becoming increasingly comfortable with using emerging technologies for the distribution of tax related documents. Although most tax forms are still distributed in the traditional manner (surface mail, or through local libraries and post offices), an increasing number are now being transmitted through the Internet or by fax machines.
